Lars Knoll announced the release today of Qt 5.6.0 as a long-term support release and offering many improvements from Windows 10 support to HiDPI improvements to major improvements to the WebEngine, Qt Location support, improved C++11 compatibility, and more.

Qt 5.6 was supposed to be released last December but is finally being released today. Meanwhile, Qt 5.7 is already in alpha with plans to release at the end of May as the two release cycles ended up happening concurrently once Qt 5.6 began being faced by set-backs.
